The first goal as always for me when setting out to market a site is content creation. This I break down into a number of levels.
Level one, blog posting, posting to my own site, then creating other blog posts and syndicate them out to other blogs linking back to the site with my desired keyword.
Before I write the content I do some keyword research so as to find low completion keywords that get decent search volumes. Then depending on the keyword I will create a category with that keyword as the title.
Level two is to then take that keyword and write 3 articles on it and syndicate them out to article directories starting with e-zine articles.
Level three is to find topics in forums where I can help others by providing answers relative to that topic.
